Why did you decide to be a part of the 2019 London PA Awards?
London PA awards is a fantastic platform for recognising PA talent and making individuals feel valued and appreciated. I was lucky enough to win awards previously and I want help in continuing to recognise the hardworking PA's in our networks.
Which attributes do you feel make PA’s so fundamental in 2019?
The ability to problem solve and 'make it happen' through our contacts, networks, google etc...
Which skills do PA’s need, now more than ever?
In 2019 PA's need to be adaptable, unflappable and a quick learners. The pace of technology, London and the executives we look after all move so fast and continues to, therefore as outstanding PA's we have to be ready and able to deal with anything.
If you could change or further support the PA community in any way, what would you do?
If I could support the PA community in anyway it would be to make career pathways more transparent and highlight that the sky really is the limit when it comes to opportunities beyond the standard PA role. Most PA's are considered their executives right hand and probably know the business better than some of the managers in their teams.
This position of knowledge really can be developed into a number of pathways, depending on your specialism and big companies are slowly realising that this is not a capped career.
In the last two years I have transitioned from a PA to an Assistant Manager with a marketing and events specialism, this is not a pathway that was available at Deloitte, however was tailored for me with the help of a very support boss. Therefore this is something that I would like to help other PA's achieve and have created a community at Deloitte to help establish as a starting point.
What is your proudest career moment so far?
Winning 2015 & 2017 London PA awards (Client & Entertainment)
What is your personal goal for 2019?
In 2019 my personal goal is to visit three new places in the world. Last year (I had the same goal) and managed to visit Miami, Chicago and Poland. This year so far I have booked, Istanbul and a trip to the Amalfi coast.
