About Fran Campbell
Company: PwC
Job Title: PA to the Global Head of Brexit
Why did you decide to be a part of the 2019 London PA Awards?
It was a very easy decision to be part of the 2019 London PA Awards as it was a great privilege to be asked.
It is a fantastic external platform to highlight what we do and be recognised for it and having been a winner in the 2017 awards it will be a pleasure to be involved in these from start to finish.
Which attributes do you feel make PA’s so fundamental in 2019?
Great communication skills, whether face/face, on the phone or email, you are representing yourself and the company you work for, you are dealing with clients, suppliers, venues and of course your internal company networks.
Attention to detail is paramount as you are tasked with "to dos" that are in a safe pair of hands, yours!
You need to be intuitive, pro-active, a mind reader and a confident decision maker, taking ownership of projects and driving them forward, it is down to you to ensure things are progressed to fruition, and being one step ahead of the boss is always a plus!
Which skills do PA’s need, now more than ever?
On top of the attributes that any good PA has, skills we definitely need today are to keep up with any new technology/software, just look at how the World is progressing and how it has changed so much over the last few years, we have to keep learning so we can be the best we can be, you don't want to be left behind.
If you could change or further support the PA community in any way, what would you do?
Having the London PA Awards is a fantastic way to recognise what PAs do and to thank them for it.
We need more platforms/media exposure to show that we are a strong and vast community and highlight how our roles have changed so much from asking "Miss Jones to take a letter"! We are key to keeping the cogs turning and are trusted to do so, but above all we want to.
What is your proudest career moment so far?
My proudest moment so far in my career has been winning my London PA Award in 2017 for the Independent Event category, hearing your name being announced and letting it sink in you have won.
The whole journey from my surprise nomination through to winning was not only very exciting and the congratulations from peers/colleagues, family & friends and to clients was very humbling, they were all so pleased for you.
What is your personal goal for 2019?
My personal goal for 2019 is to continue to be "Fran" and be the best I can be. Being involved in these awards will definitely add to that and I look forward to the task!
